The Three Tequesta development was named in honor of the American Indian tribe found by Florida's early Spanish explorers at the mouth of the Miami river, Tequesta Point was also inspired by the international artist Manuel Carbonell's series of Tequesta Indian sculptures. The development also looks over the Miami circle, an ancient American Indian archaeological site of which the future of it's preservation is unknown.
